Apparently One Marathon Wasn’t Enough

Story

Yes, it’s me again — signed up for another (& bigger) challenge that I’d love your support and generosity with.

In April 2026, I ran the London Marathon for Autistica, because a future that truly understands difference matters deeply to me, my family, my clients, and our society.

I thought crossing that finish line might satisfy my appetite for crazy running challenges…but apparently not.

So this October, I’ll be taking on the Kent Downs 50km Ultra Challenge in support of the British Dyslexia Association — running 50 kilometres across the hills and trails of the Kent Downs. It’s further, hillier, and far more intimidating than anything I’ve done before.

And because 50km across that kind of terrain is going to take a lot longer than London, I’ve managed to rope Cox into joining me. He claims he was “inspired” watching all my marathon training...we’ll see how inspired he feels somewhere around kilometre 42.

The reason behind it, though, feels incredibly important.

My amazing mom is dyslexic, but she grew up without the support or recognition she needed. She was bright and capable but was often made to feel otherwise. I want things to be different for Thea and for future generations.

I want my children to grow up in a world where difference is normalised, not stigmatised. Where people are encouraged to play to their strengths, supported to reach their potential, and inspired to turn their dreams into reality.

The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) works tirelessly to make that happen — raising awareness, improving support in education and the workplace, and helping ensure that every dyslexic person has the opportunity to thrive.

By sponsoring our ultra challenge, you’ll be helping more people get the understanding and opportunities they deserve — and you’ll also be helping carry us up every hill, through every difficult mile, and all the way to the finish line.

Thank you so much for any support you can give ❤️
