Story
I’m raising money for Barnsley Hospice in the memory of my mum Carole Alger. As some of you may be aware we recently lost her.
Mums health deteriorated quickly after thinking she would only be in hospital for pain management. After a week in hospital we had to make the decision to have her moved from the hospital to the hospice.
The hospice took exceptional care of mum and made sure she was free from pain. But they also supported us as a family. The nurses are truly remarkable people, and they were the biggest help and support to us in the hardest times of our life.
I can’t do much as I am recovering from my own cancer journey but I can make sure I do this walk to help raise as much money as I can for a great cause.
I have no target… everything is a bonus. Please if you can donate, please do. We never know when or if we will ever need a service like this.
Barnsley Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care to adults in Barnsley living with a progressive life-limiting illness, and the people close to them.
We need to raise £3.5 million each year to continue our services, and it’s because of our incredible supporters who take on challenges like this that we can achieve this total.
