Story
We are back to our crazy Westerwood adventures again and have signed ourselves up to take part in the Kelpies Experience on Sunday 1th May 2025!
We are taking part to raise funds for an amazing children & young people’s charity Harmeny Education Trust based just outside Edinburgh. Harmeny work tirelessly to assist vulnerable young people who have had to deal with the hardest starts in life and help them rediscover their childhood, re-engage with their learning and develop vital skills for their futures.
This thrilling 90-minute challenge takes us through an aerial course of cables, ladders, nets, suspended platforms, all leading up to the mouth of the Kelpies and finally finishing with an interior free fall drop.
Westerwood have kindly agreed to match anything we raise over £500.00 (£250.00 each).
All funds raised will help children and young people who have had challenging starts in life, get the spaces, opportunities and support needed to discover their true potential, rebuild their lives and reshape their futures.
Harmeny Education Trust is a national, sector leading children’s charity. They offer therapeutic care and education, on a residential and day basis to children and young people aged 5-18, who have experienced early years trauma due to abuse, neglect and significant family disruption, enabling them to build positive relationships, make friends and rediscover the joy of learning at their school and cottages in Balerno, on the outskirts of Edinburgh.
Most have been in care from a young age and have been passed from pillar to post as carers and local authorities have struggled with their complex needs.
At Harmeny they are given consistent care and can discover how to be children again, to play, make friends and find fresh ways of learning that focus on their strengths. Your support will help young people who have had extremely challenging starts in life to get the spaces, opportunities and support they need to develop, discover their potential and thrive!
