Story
Every other day in the UK, a baby is born who may develop serious mitochondrial disease. The Lily Foundation was founded in 2007 by Liz Curtis in memory of her daughter Lily, who died from mito at just 8 months old. Finding little information or support to help her, Liz set out to provide answers for herself and others in her situation. The charity exists today to support affected patients and families, raise awareness of this little-known but incurable genetic condition and fund research into treatments and an eventual cure.
This charity means a great deal to us and is very much needed for families like ours.
This is Phoebe's first ever fundraiser in memory of her sister. She has designed a christmas card to sell in Connie's memory. She is asking for anyone who would normally buy us a christmas present to donate to the charity instead. Or if you can simply, just make a donation (no matter how small) for what would have been Connie's first christmas, we would be very grateful. If all Facebook friends donated just £2, that would be a nice little jackpot that goes directly to the charity.
Phoebe is selling her cards 5 for £5 in order to make a little profit for the charity. She will also be selling some bracelets through school in the coming weeks, and she is super excited to have come up with her own ideas. Please support her if you can. Thank you in advance from a very proud Mummy and Daddy 🩷 xx
