Story
You might be wondering why I've chosen to support this charity in particular and it's because they supported my mummy and daddy when I was born.
On 30th November 2021 I arrived into the world but not in the most straight forward of ways. My mummy and daddy tell me it was very traumatic to say the least.
As I wasn't very well I had to spend my first 10 days in intensive care - my first home was a very clever incubator which kept me all nice and cosy but still allowed me to hold hands with mummy and daddy.
During my time in intensive care I had many wires attached to me - some of which I used to like pulling off just to keep the nurses on there toes! These allowed many tests to take place as well as ensuring I received all the right medicines along the way.
I was very well looked after by all of the lovely doctors and nurses and I know mummy and daddy were too both by them and the lovely people at SSNAP.
For those of you who don't know, SSNAP are an incredible charity that work with the New Born Baby Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
The team work tirelessly to champion the right of all sick and premature babies treated in Oxford to receive the best care. They do this by supporting families, purchasing life-saving equipment and enabling life changing research and training to take place.
As a thank you for all they have done and continue to do to support us, I have signed up for this one mile fun run to help raise money so they can continue there vital work on the Special Care Baby Unit.
Any support given will be truly appreciated.
Thank you very much.
