Story
2026 is the year my brother Tom and I are stepping far outside our comfort zones to take on two huge challenges together: the London Landmarks Half Marathon (12Apr) and our first Hyrox doubles event (25Mar). Running a half marathon event will be a new challenge for Tom, while Hyrox is a whole new world for me, but we struck a deal, and we’re giving it everything we’ve got.
We’re doing this for Grief Encounter, a charity incredibly close to our hearts who provide invaluable support to children and their families following the death of someone close. As many of you will know we lost our beautiful mum very suddenly when I was 15 and Tom was 12. In later years, we also lost our auntie and uncle, who were like a second mum and dad to us as they were not only a big part of our lives growing up but had also taken us in following the loss of mum. Their loss meant we’ve had to support our own children, nieces and nephews, through the devastating pain of losing their grandparents too.
Over the years we’ve also done our very best to support many friends and their families navigate through the difficulties the loss of a loved one brings.
We know firsthand how vital it is that children don’t feel alone or isolated in grief, and that’s exactly what Grief Encounter provides: hope, healing, and support at the hardest times.
With our training underway (on top of work, family, and life’s juggle!), we’ve pledged to raise at least £800 each. Every donation will keep us motivated through the miles, the workouts, and across those finish lines.
💜 Please support us if you can, your generosity will help Grief Encounter continue their incredible work supporting children and families as they re-build their lives after losing someone close, helping to bring hope, comfort and brighter days.
Completing these challenges together will mean even more to us both knowing we are supporting this amazing cause – Together, we can make a difference. Thank you!
