Kev Grahamslaw is raising money for The Bubble Foundation UK

Run through Newcastle-Gateshead 10k Kingston Park Half Marathon & Newcastle Quayside 10k · 5 August 2026

We are proud to be the charity of the year partner for the Newcastle-Gateshead Marathon, Half Marathon and 10k in 2026. The Bubble Foundation supports children with a life-threatening immunodeficiency, while they live in a ‘bubble’.

Story

I’m taking part in the Newcastle-Gateshead 10k, Kingston Park Half-Marathon and Newcastle Quayside 10K all on behalf of our amazing Ellie who has shown more courage in the last few months than most of us will in a lifetime. After undergoing a stem cell transplant, she has been working hard to rebuild her immune system a long, delicate journey that requires specialist care, constant monitoring, and an environment where she can safely heal.

Ellie was placed on Ward 3 at the Newcastle RVI, a unit dedicated to children with severe immune disorders. This ward is supported by The Bubble Foundation, a charity that funds lifesaving equipment, research, and family support for children who need bone marrow or stem cell transplants.

The Bubble Foundation doesn’t just provide medical support they create a safe, protected space where children like Ellie can recover, grow stronger, and look forward to the future. Their work has been a lifeline for our family, and now I want to give something back.

I am raising funds to support this incredible charity so they can continue helping children and families facing the toughest battles. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference. It helps fund vital research, specialist equipment, and the compassionate care that gives children the best possible chance of recovery.
