Story

# A personal message from Megan Bromley (kevin and sue putnams daughter):

The Evelina children’s Hospital is one of only two specialist children's hospitals in London and treats over 100,000 children every year across 30+ specialties.

After months of our daughter Eden being so ill, we were finally referred by our local hospital to the Evelina. Eden had been basically living on antibiotics. The Evelina acted quickly and were able to diagnose our daughter with a condition called Dysphagia. In layman’s terms it means when Eden was drinking, she was inhaling liquid into her lungs, which in turn can cause serious health problems, such as pneumonia.

Shortly after being diagnosed, Eden needed to be put under General anaesthetic for some procedures and eventually she had a gastronomy tube fitted. The doctors , consultants and nurses that cared for Eden were amazing. More recently our son Arthur, who is also under the Evelina hospital, has now also been diagnosed with the same condition. He is currently being investigated for treatment. The care and on going support we have received from the Evelina has been outstanding and we can’t thank them enough.
