Story
Kev , Rog , Andy , Helen, Terry, Chris, Liam ( her son) and Loz, Thank you all so much for visiting our Midnight Walk JustGiving page.
For our Family Member, Kat , who is only 39, and has Metastatic breast cancer amongst other serious conditions , to raise money for the brilliant Hospice care she has received.

Our nurses have made birthday wishes come true, hosting a beach-themed party for a patient staying with us.
Kathy from Crewe - who is celebrating her 39th birthday today – dreamed of going to Llandudno. But, as the trip wasn’t possible, our nurses brought the seaside to her with balloons, beach balls, decorations, games, fish and chips, and even an ice cream van — all to help Kathy enjoy the kind of day she loves most.
Kathy said: “I’ve always loved the beach and the sea, so I’m just doing what I love really. And the nurses and the health care assistants have put up all these balloons and decorations and just made everything look so cheerful. They must have been preparing this for days. I’m so happy. I’m feeling really loved.”
Kathy, who is living with metastatic breast cancer, arrived at the Hospice in March after being told she may only have days to live. Thanks to our specialist care and compassion, she is now preparing to leave for a care home - something she never thought possible.
She shares: “St Luke’s has done so much for me. When I came here I was given 2 or 3 days, they didn’t think I would last, and yet under the care of St Luke’s I’ve gone from strength to strength... I’m thriving at St Luke’s and I can’t thank the nurses enough.”
Every day we make moments count for patients and their families. One of the best ways you can support the Hospice, both now and for the future, is by playing our Lottery.
St Luke's Lottery provides the Hospice with a steady and reliable source of income which funds the care of 1 in every 5 patients. Please join our Lottery today and help ensure we can be there for local families like Kathy's when they need us most - link in the comments.
This is more than just a walk; it's a celebration of community, compassion, and the incredible impact we've made together.
The Midnight Walk is a special challenge. A significant distance (note we talk in miles not km....if our wonderful walkers were doing it in metric they would be walking up to 21km on hard pavements late at night when most are tucked up in bed
Whilst their registration fee goes towards the cost of the event, we do rely on our walkers to fundraise for us. Raising just £15.00 hugely benefits patient care.
Whether our walkers choose to walk the 6 or 11 mile route they are undertaking a challenge at a time they should be tucked up at home and that alone is surely worth a donation!
Thank you so much from everyone at St Luke's Hospice for your support.
