7 for 70

2026 sees me entering my ‘platinum’ decade and I will be celebrating my 70th birthday in October.

I’ve decided to do something a little different by way of marking this occasion. Therefore, I’ve chosen seven running events throughout the year culminating it what will be my first, and probably last, Marathon a few days before my birthday!

As an added incentive, I’m also raising money for a local charity that has become close to my heart.

PACT – Parents Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia is the one I’ve chosen and in memory of a remarkable young man called Owen Jenkinson who sadly lost his battle against Ewing sarcoma in November last year.

As always, I appreciate that money is tight but any donation, however small, will make a massive difference to this charity.

I will be running over several months so there is no need to donate immediately: £1 per event, £7 in total would be in keeping with the 7 for 70 theme, although £10 per event would be better!! Joking aside, any donation will be greatly appreciated,

As usual with any running event I will be joined by several of my friends at the Clifton Park Running Group and for event #1 we will be at the Wickersley 10K on March 8th.
