I’m rider #262 in this year’s Pan Celtic Race. When the race commences on the 12th of July you can follow my progress live here:

The Pan Celtic Ultra Races are self-supported, ultra-endurance bicycle adventures that travel through Celtic lands. This year’s Pan Celtic race starts in Conwy, crosses to Dublin before making an anti clockwise circuit around Ireland.
Last time I rode it I completed the short(er) route from the Isle of Man to Inverness in just under 8 days and raised £490 for charity. This time I’m hoping to complete the long route in 10 days.
The long route is 2,419 km, has 21,744m of climbing and is self supported i.e. no drafting, and any food, drink or shelter acquired must be universally accessible to all. For the most part I’ll be sleeping on the side of the road or at campsites.
Whilst riding I’ve decided to again raise money for MATTHEW WALKLIN'S MAKE A SMILE FOUNDATION.
The charity began as an idea in Matthew’s mind as he went through his treatment for cancer. Whilst undergoing treatment, Matt realised that as much as the Doctors took care of the medical needs, there was a real need for support with a patient’s state of mind. He saw that there was much that could be done to help make cancer a little easier to bear and as such he came up with the proposal for the charity. Matt’s ideas were brought to life by his family after he sadly completed his journey.
