On the 21st December 1978 18 year-old Guardsman Glen Ling was one of three Grenadier Guardsmen that were killed in action in Northern Ireland, Glen was a Suffolk boy and is buried in St Mary Magdalene Church cemetery in Sternfield, Suffolk. We are walking from Bawdsey to Snape Maltings which is 17 miles on Sunday 16th August 2026 in memory of Glen Ling and after the walk is done will travel the short distance to Glen's grave to lay a wreath.

We should also remember all fallen Grenadiers and in particular the two Grenadiers killed with Glen that day, Guardsman Graham Duggan and Kevin Johnson.
