Story
In November of last year, my dad lost a prolonged battle against kidney cancer. Until the very end, he maintained the fighting spirit and positive outlook that characterised him as a person his entire life. On top of being an incredibly wise, loving and generous dad, he was always very resilient, especially when the going got tough. Whenever I would complain about being tired during sports, he would repeat the same phrase over and over again - "When you're so exhausted you throw up, you've still got another 30% to give".
In his memory, I am fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support, while undertaking three races - the Brighton half marathon, the Brighton marathon, and the 'London 2 Brighton' 100k ultra marathon between February and May. By taking on these challenges, I am hoping to honour my dad's resilience, and put my own to the test.
Thank you for supporting my fundraising for Macmillan, a charity that provides invaluable practical, financial and emotional support for those diagnosed with cancer, and the people around them, when it is most needed. As a charity, they are 98% funded by voluntary donations, and so all contributions are massively helpful in furthering their cause.
