Story
The Missenden Walled Garden charity provides day support for adults with disabilities or mental health issues based within the grounds of Missenden Abbey in Buckinghamshire. Staff and local volunteers help our ‘gardeners’ to grow and reach their potential through a mix of outdoor and indoor activities. I have been a volunteer here for 7 years.
The educational element of our work is critical as it provides our gardeners with a real sense of achievement and recognition for the effort they put in and delivers lasting impact.
I'll also be creating a separate page for Rennie Grove Hospice and linking the two together with a Team page. This organisation looked after my best mate, Mark E Smith, in his final days last December. In this way I believe you are able to choose which charity you wish to support. (That doesn’t mean you can’t do both, hopefully they will each attract a similar level of support).
Mark’s son Jared, my godson, will be accompanying me on the trek. We will be climbing Snowdon by as many different routes as we can manage in a day. Weather permitting we will do it on 9th May, which happens to be my 70th birthday.
Thanks in advance to you all.
Achieved i 12 hours and 51 minutes via The Miner's Track, Crib Goch and The PYG Track. it was tough but very rewarding. Thank you Jared for your company, and thank you all for your support!
