Story
My journey with VUK began after the passing of my sister, Clare, on New Year’s Eve 2010 who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Wegener’s Granulomatosus at just 38.
At the time, my family knew very little about the disease. Through VUK we found information, guidance, and support, and we wanted to help raise awareness so that other families wouldn’t feel as lost as we once did.
In 2024, vasculitis touched our family again when my granddaughter was diagnosed at the age of 14. The condition affected both her kidneys, and once more, the knowledge, advice, and kindness we received from VUK especially from Susan Mills made a world of difference.
So much so that in June 2026 our Son donated his Kidney to his daughter Macy, and this is what motivated me to do the 2027 London Marathon.
