Kevin's fundraiser for Bowel Research UK

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
April update.
Unfortunately and incredibly sadly Lisa recently lost her fight and passed away peacefully. There are no words that can be said that can ease the pain or nothing that can be done to fill the void left in our lives. This challenge is a tiny tiny way of trying to give back something to hopefully help others that may find themselves in a situation where they are fighting this awful disease. It’s been a tough time recently but I’ve kept going and I will make it past that finish post on April 27th.
Hi, I am fortunate to have secured a place in the 2025 TCS London Marathon. I am doing this in aid of Bowel Research UK, and will be raising much needed funds to support this amazing charity that is close to my heart.
Bowel Research UK is funding life-changing research into bowel cancer and other bowel diseases.
Every year over 16,000 people die from bowel cancer in the UK and over a million suffer from bowel disease.
By researching cutting edge treatments and investing in the best science, they are saving and improving people’s lives.
Why did I chose Bowel Research UK? Last November my partner Lisa was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the transverse colon and into the liver. Lisa underwent surgery to remove the impacted area of colon and has for some time now been undergoing Chemotherapy. This is an ongoing process for which we constantly keep our fingers crossed.
I chose to support Bowel Research UK in the hope that this can make a difference and work towards helping people like Lisa who are impacted by this awful disease.
I will be organising events and doing all I can to generate backing and hopefully engage friends, family and extended contacts to join me on this journey. If you can help, you contribution would be most greatly appreciated.
Having been fortunate enough to have run the London Marathon twice before I know exactly what to expect and am under no illusion about how tough it can be. I have a long long way to go with training and fund raising. please, please help if you are able. Thank you. x
