Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I never thought that I had ever suffered from any mental health related issues, and at times just thought it might be life getting in the way.
As a Chartered Surveyor, a manager and a Dad life can be hectic, and at times stress does affect me and is a contributing factor on which version of me arrives at work, or returns home from work.
Running has been my saviour and release. It provides me with time where I can switch off and decompress, and allows me to focus and gives me clarity, and much needed thinking time. It provides me the opportunity to be best version of me, to manage more efficiently both at work and at home.
SAMH does incredible work for the people of Scotland, ensuring that whoever needs the support get the support. As a man, this can be a subject that doesn't get spoken about enough and I hope that by me running the Dundee Half Dram half marathon in support of SAMH it can make others feel that they can speak out and realise that they are not suffering in silence.
So wish me luck for the 12th July, and if any of the above sounds familiar, please sponsor us if you can so we can support SAMH and allow them to continue their incredible work.
