Story

Hi, my name is Kevin Woodhouse

I currently work for Staffordshire County Council and Midland Partnership University Foundation Trust/Inclusion Team STaRS and I have the privilege of working alongside 3 amazing Charity/Non-Profit Organisations

1. The BAC O’Connor Centre in Staffordshire, has since 1998 provided drug and alcohol rehabilitation for hundreds of people. From humble beginnings to an impressive portfolio of services across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent; they pride themselves in providing excellent, person-centred care for all the service user who access them

2. Better Way Recovery in Lichfield, Tamworth, Burntwood, Burton-on-Trent and soon to be Leek is led and supported by people who have survived active addiction and are living in recovery. They help others to find recovery and show that change is possible as they have experienced the pain and devastation attached to living in that life and not knowing there is a way out.

3. Chase Recovery in Stafford, Cannock and Newcastle-under-Lyme is a recovery community organisation brought together by those with lived experience of addictions and recovery to help those who are just starting out on their journey, and to offer networks of aftercare and support throughout Staffordshire.

On March 25th I will be setting out to complete the Annapurna Circuit Trek in the Himalayas one of the world’s greatest long distance trekking experiences. This 18-day trip encompasses reaching one of the world’s highest Passes – the Thorong La (5416m). Driving to Basi Sahar, trekking to Manang, crossing the Thorong La, and descending into the Kali Gandaki one of the world’s deepest river gorges and on to Jomson staying in tea houses enroute.

100% of anything that I raise will be distributed equally across the 3 services above

Thank you for reading and hopefully supporting

Kev
