Hello, and thank you for visiting my fundraiser for the Royal Signals Charity.

I’m Kevin, a Sergeant currently serving within the Royal Signals. I’m married with two young children, and as a family we have a real passion for the outdoors, spending most of our weekends enjoying walking in the countryside together.

Over the past 13 years, I have been posted to various units across the UK and have deployed on exercises and operations around the world. During my military career, I have taken on many physically and mentally demanding challenges, including the Lanyard Trophy, the Nijmegen March, and numerous charity events. I’ve also been fortunate enough to take part in a wide range of adventurous sports such as parachuting, paragliding, skiing, kayaking, and climbing, as well as expeditions in the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert — gaining navigation and mountain qualifications along the way.

As a keen runner, I have completed several half marathons, but never anything beyond that… until now.

Having recently crossed over to the “dark side” of 40, I decided it was time to push myself once again and prove that age is just a number. Somewhat foolishly, perhaps, I have skipped the marathon distance altogether and gone straight for an ultra-marathon.

In May, I will be taking on the Jurassic Coast Ultra Marathon — 100km of gruelling coastal terrain, with over 2,300 metres of ascent along the course. This challenge will push me to my absolute limits, and the training will dominate the months ahead.

To give this challenge even greater purpose, I have chosen to raise money and awareness for the incredible work carried out by the Royal Signals Charity. The charity supports serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and their families who have fallen on hard times — often when they need help the most.

The Royal Signals Charity provides vital benevolence grants to those facing distress or hardship, while also supporting our wider community through initiatives that promote camaraderie, preserve Corps history, and educate future generations of tradespeople.

In 2024 alone, the charity delivered over £834,000 in grants and initiatives. Benevolence grants exceeded £340,500, directly supporting 1,250 members of our community — and many more indirectly.
