Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

On the 17th & 18th of this month I'll be attempting to run 174Km (117 Miles) across the country, 🏃‍♂️ , coast to coast. Completing nearly 5 Marathons back-to-back, trying to raise some cash for Parkinsons UK along the way.

Unfortunately I lost my Grandfather to Parkinsons just a few years ago, and my Father was diagnosed with the disease shortly after his passing. The disease is on the rise! I'd be very grateful if you would help me get some funds to the team at Parkinsons UK, they think they can find a cure!

Parkinsons UK offer both lifesaving research and support to both patients and the families of people with Parkinsons. Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, they're getting closer to a cure. Until then, they're improving the lives of people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. A little bit about the event.

I'll be completing the course as part of an organised event called the Devon Coast to Coast Ultra, which has time limit of 36 hours. ⏰️

Starting down at Wembury at 8am on the Saturday morning, I will start by running the Erm Plym trail 👣 to Ivybridge. Ill then join the Two Moors way, which I will follow for the remainder of my journey. Next, Dartmoor. After leaving Ivybridge, the course rises steeply on to Dartmoor where Ill follow the trails and bogs of Dartmoor, which ill navigate for much of the first day.

At around 8pm I'll grab a change of clothes and a headtorch and get ready to run through the night. 🌙

During the night stage, I'll pick my way through the narrow streets, fields and stiles of Devon making my way up towards Exmoor (I've allowed myself a 20 minute nap in the night stage). I'll pass not far from the Fraser Offices at Knowstone and West Anstey somewhere around first light 😴.

As the sun rises 🌅, my support crew will get me fed and watered before I head for the final stages and on towards Exmoor. If I make it this far, I'll head up and over Exmoor before the final decent into Lynmouth (hopefully) all in under 36 hours.

I know money is tight for everyone, but if you can spare a few quid, I'd be really really grateful 🙏. Link and more information below.

Thanks Everyone!

Kevin
