Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Sunshine Fund very kindly provided a grant to help us purchase a specialist pushchair / buggy to enable us to get out more with our son Joe.

He loves being outdoors but sometimes it's too overwhelming for him if there are lots of people.

He is fully mobile and can walk/run (too fast in fact, making him a flight risk as he has no sense of danger whatsoever 🙈) but his pushchair helps to keep him regulated when outdoors for long periods of time, he feels less anxious when he is in it and often retreats to it as his safe space when things become too overwhelming for him!

Joe's autism means he finds the world very difficult to understand as his neurodivergent brain processes his surroundings so differently which most of us can't really imagine. Throw ADHD, OCD and GAD into the mix and you can see why things are so hard for him!

His wheels will really help in reducing his meltdowns leading to happier days out for everyone 💙💙

Raising money entering this event is our way of saying thanks and giving something back to The Sunshine Fund doing the 22nd Sunshine Run along Newcastle Quayside.
