Dorchester Festival is raising money for Be Free Young Carers and Dorchester Abbey in 2026

Be Free Young Carers is a proudly independent

Oxfordshire charity leading the way in championing young carers. They create real, lasting change for children and teenagers aged 8

- 17 who care for loved ones. Their support helps them rediscover their childhood, build confidence, and thrive.

Be Free Young Carers have been supporting me since 2024, We have gone to parliament and i've spoken to a select committee, l am a 2025 finalist for Young Hero awards, I formally lead young carers group at swan and now setting them up across the country. I now am Head of Student Leaderships / Lead YC voice with over 50 young carer recognised. As a young carer my self i support my fellow young carers to make sure they feel heard and speaking out for them no matter the situation,

I care for my mum and 2 brothers. Since i joined BFYC in march 2024 ive had support an amazing youth worker, Lorraine who has been by my side supporting me an had the chance to be special and heard, and as that mission has happened i've made hundreds heard too.
