Story
On Saturday 19th September I will be hiking a 5 mile route up the small Wainwright mountain Latrigg, just next to Keswick in the Lake District, to raise money for ME Research UK!
I've suffered with diagnosed ME/CFS (chronic fatigue) for around 8 years (longer undiagnosed) and it's completely changed my life, what I can do and taken away a lot of things I used to enjoy.
There's no area of life untouched by this condition and it's completely under diagnosed and under researched. I had to fight for years for my diagnosis until I found an understanding and open minded doctor, and there's currently no treatment or odds I will outgrow ME/CFS or ever live without it.
ME Research are doing such valuable work to change lives of people like me and those with other chronic conditions like long COVID. They can only do their research through funding which is hard to come by, so I'd really appreciate anything you can give towards this cause.
More research can lead to deeper understanding of what actually causes ME/CFS and in turn, find ways to finally treat it.
5 miles might not sound a lot to many people but since developing ME/CFS it's a big challenge for me mentally and physically, so thank you in advance for your support and any donation you're able to give.
And if you don't know what ME/CFS is, please do look it up to see the impact it's symptoms have on people such as myself :)
