For decades, the King George V Playing Fields have been the beating heart of Effingham and our neighbouring villages. Rugby, football, cricket, dog‑walkers, families, and community groups have all shared this space. Children have taken their first steps into sport here. Generations have gathered on touchlines. The KGV has become a place where memories, friendships, and community identity are built.

We now have a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity to secure the future of this much‑loved 33‑acre site — and to make it fully accessible, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone.

Why We’re Fundraising

We have planning permission for a transformational upgrade of the entire site. We have a clear, community‑driven vision. And thanks to Surrey County Council’s YourFund, we already have over £500,000 — an extraordinary investment that takes us nearly halfway to the £1.3 million needed.

To turn these plans into reality, we need the support of our community — families, residents, clubs, local businesses, and anyone who believes in creating safe, inclusive, nature‑rich spaces for all ages.

Every pound you give helps us deliver the full project — from construction and materials to the essential behind‑the‑scenes work that makes it all possible.
