Lebanon deployment - Background

In loving memory of my parents, Jawed and Soraya Dar, my 18-year-old daughter Alisha and I will be taking part in an aid deployment to Lebanon to personally distribute aid on your behalf & aim to support Palestinian, Syrian & Lebanese families who are in dire need of our help.

After losing my mum suddenly to cancer, I searched for a way to transform grief into something meaningful — to honour my parents’ legacy of compassion, generosity, and quiet service to others. Their values shaped who I am and continue to guide my choices.

Inspired by Human Appeal’s work and the words, “If not me, then who? If not now, then when?”, I felt guided to begin this journey.

Lebanon is facing one of the world’s most severe refugee crises, with millions — especially women, children, orphans, and displaced families — living without security or basic necessities. Through this deployment, we will provide essential aid including food parcels, hygiene kits, and support for orphan sponsorship programmes, helping restore dignity and hope.

This journey allows me to honour my parents through action and to pass on their values to my daughter — compassion, responsibility, and service. It is a reminder that love outlives loss, and that purpose can rise from pain.

▪️ Provide a nutritious food parcel to feed a family for a month (Rice, Sugar, Red Lentils, Black Lentils, Vermicelli, Chickpeas, Salt, Burgul, Tomato Sauce, Oil, Pasta, Flavabeans, Flour)

▪️ Provide each family with a fresh food parcel (meat & chicken), bread packs and toys & sweets for the children

▪️ Can provide a Dignity Kit, which includes basic medical care (Toothpaste, Wipes ect)

▪️Provides families with hot meals

▪️ Contributes towards our Orphan Sponsorship Campaign, which allows us to host fundays & activities for our beloved orphans.
