Story
Hello, my name is Kiara. I am currently a university student in Canada. I found out through a friend (who is also participating) about Swim Tayka’s company and what they are doing to help children learn how to swim all over the world. Once I read their website I decided that I wanted to be a part of what they do. Their main mission overall is to “prevent children from drowning”.
Swim Tayka is a non-profit that provides free swimming lessons to less fortunate children to help prevent drowning and teach children about water safety. With that, they recruit many lifeguard/swim instructor volunteers from around the world. As someone who has had a relative pass from lack of water safety as a child and a family full of non-swimmers, their organization spoke to me. I truly believe that everyone from age 0-100 should have some form of knowledge relating to aquatic safety.
I will be joining Swim Tayka on their Summer 2025 excursion to Indonesia and look forward to spreading my knowledge about aquatics to as many children as possible. I am very grateful for this opportunity and hope that you will be able to either spread the word about Swim Tayka or donate here to help these children learn more about aquatics!
