Story
The Moodie Davitt Report, travel retail’s leading business media, has launched the #KickCancerThon to raise visibility and funds for cancer research and related cancer causes worldwide. It is a classic global + local campaign.
#KickCancerThon is the joint brainchild of Sinead Moodie, The Moodie Davitt Report’s Chief Operating Officer, and her father and company Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie.
Sinead has been diagnosed with NUT Carcinoma Lung Cancer, an ultra-rare, very aggressive variant of the disease. A non-smoker her whole life, Sinead is just 40, has loving children of 5 and 2, and a devoted husband, Adrian.
She is under the extraordinarily caring and professional support of The Royal Marsden in London, which opened in 1851 as the world’s first hospital dedicated to cancer diagnosis, treatment, research and education.
Appropriately then, The Moodie Davitt Report’s chosen charity is The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
#KickCancerThon is a marathon with a difference.
Teams of any size (1 to 100) simply need to complete the marathon distance of 42.195 kilometres (26 miles & 385 yards) between them.
The marathon can involve any means of athletic (or non-athletic) endeavour – running, walking, swimming, rowing, cycling, dog-walking, paragliding, roller-skating, sailing, surfing, sky diving, you name it!
Or any other creative fund-raising activity for your chosen cancer cause. You choose which cause you raise money for and how you raise it. Just keep us posted on your activities and final fund-raising total.
While #KickCancerThon is formally timed for February 2026, if you want to choose an alternative earlier or later timing (as some individuals and companies have done already), no problem! The fight against cancer knows no time limits.
