With under three weeks to go, we can’t wait to set off on our African adventure at the end of the month.

For the past 10+ years, Kids Like Us Ltd has been raising funds for our locally based charity, Coco's Foundation. Now it's time to go give them a hand in South Africa and see how our funds are helping to transform the lives of orphaned children and their communities.

We will be building a home for the Mthembu family of six children, who currently live in this leaky hut. We can’t wait to get started with helping to make a difference to their lives.

The children at our clubs are busy making gifts for us to take to the children at the schools and homes that we meet in Africa. We can't wait to come back and share with them our photos, experiences and insights into the lives of the young people that we support.

Back in April we had great fun at our Quiz night and the generosity of over 70 friends and family helped us to smash our target for the evening, raising £1500 in total!

The materials for each house costs £4800. In total we have raised £3,450 through various fundraising activities. Together with our own contributions this means we now have enough to pay for all the materials for the house, which is incredible!

As well as helping to build the house, while we are in Africa we will also be visiting the breakfast and after school club, children’s home and children’s hospice that Coco’s Foundation support.
