Chicago Marathon · 8 October 2023

We provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time, to everyone who needs us; all of our hospice services are free of charge. It costs £6m per year to provide our services but we receive just 13% of this from the Government. We rely on support from our amazing community fundraisers.

Story

Fitness-willing we are hoping to run the 2023 Chicago Marathon to raise money for our local hospice, St Peter & St James.

The hospice is very close to our hearts. Isi has been a trustee at St Peter & St James since 2021 and Rob has worked as one of their doctors since 2019. It's a very special place with a team dedicated to providing support to people with life-limiting illnesses across a large part of Mid-Sussex, as well as supporting their families and friends. You can find out more about St Peter & St James Hospice here: https://stpjhospice.org/

As with all UK hospices, St Peter & St James relies heavily on public donations. If you don't fall into their catchment area there is sure to be a hospice where you do, and if you would prefer to donate to them instead we certainly wouldn't hold it against you! You can find your local service here: https://www.hospiceuk.org/

As for us, we have no particular goals for the marathon itself, other than getting to both the start and finish lines safely and - as with every run we do - hopefully enjoying the experience in between!
