Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby. Our vision is that through the power of rugby every child and young person across the UK & Ireland, no matter what their background has access to the same opportunities.

Story

Last Sunday, the Cumbria Rams had a fantastic day at Upper Eden Rugby Club, raising money towards our involvement in the Wooden Spoon Vets Fest at the end of September.

Players, supporters, friends and members of the local community gave their time and their hard-earned money to support a great cause.

Unfortunately, after the event, a car was broken into and £300 of the money raised was stolen.

We have footage of the incident and the matter is being dealt with, but rather than allow somebody’s actions to take away from what was an amazing day, we want to turn something bad into something positive.

So we’re asking the wider rugby and local community to help us raise back the £300 that was taken – and, if we can, smash straight past it.

£5, £10, £20 – whatever people can spare. Every donation helps replace money that local people had already generously given.

Let’s show that one person’s actions can’t undo the generosity of an entire community and beyond.
