Story
I'm incredibly proud to be part of Team Lullaby and to be running the London Marathon 2027 in support of The Lullaby Trust.
As an NHS midwife at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, I care for women and families throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period. A key part of my role is supporting parents with evidence-based information, including safer sleep guidance, to help give every baby the safest possible start in life. This is one of the reasons why supporting The Lullaby Trust means so much to me.
The Lullaby Trust is dedicated to saving babies' lives and supporting families whose lives have been changed by the sudden or unexpected death of a baby. Around three babies every week still die from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and The Lullaby Trust is committed to bringing that number down to zero through life-saving research, trusted safer sleep advice, and support for bereaved families.
Every day I meet parents who want to do everything they can to keep their babies safe. There is so much information available that it can sometimes feel overwhelming, which is why clear, evidence-based guidance is so important. The Lullaby Trust plays a vital role in giving families the confidence to make informed decisions, while also being there for those facing the unimaginable loss of a baby.
Running 26.2 miles will be one of the biggest physical and mental challenges I've ever taken on, but it's only half of the challenge. Alongside crossing the finish line, I'm committed to raising £2,500 to help The Lullaby Trust continue its vital work. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help me get closer to that goal and make a real difference to families across the UK.
To show how far your generosity can go:
£10 can help train a healthcare professional to provide safer sleep advice to new parents.
£23.50 can help keep The Lullaby Trust's bereavement helpline running for families who have experienced the devastating loss of a baby or young child.
£74 could pay to train a bereaved parent or family member to become Lullaby Trust Befrienders, offering specialist support to other families who have experienced the death of a baby of young child.
Whether you can donate £6, £10, £20, or any other amount, every contribution helps fund life-saving research, supports bereaved families, and ensures more parents receive trusted, evidence-based safer sleep advice.
Thank you so much for your generosity, encouragement, and support. Together, we can help create a future where no baby dies suddenly and unexpectedly.
Your kind support is crucial to creating a future where no baby dies suddenly and unexpectedly. The Lullaby Trust is reliant on voluntary donations so your generosity helps save lives.
