36k Challenge 2026
Campaign by Suicide&Co (RCN 1187985)
Every year, 36,000 people are newly facing suicide loss. That’s why we’re launching the 36k Challenge for the 5th year! Stand in solidarity with those bereaved by suicide, and take on 36km to show them they are not alone. Your challenge, your way.

Story

Every year, around 36,000 people across the UK experience the loss of someone to suicide. In April 2024 I was one of those people, and that’s why in September, my mum, my brother and I will be taking part in the 36K Challenge to raise money for Suicide&Co in memory of my beloved brother, Kyle.

It's impossible to put into words the devastation that suicide leaves behind. The grief that follows is incredibly complex and lifelong. Although as a family we all lost the same person, each of us had a unique relationship with Kyle, which made it difficult to understand each other’s feelings and reactions, or know how best to support one another. We were all trying to cope with our individual grief while watching the people we love struggle with theirs. Grief from suicide is extremely lonely, and leaves you feeling helpless, misunderstood, and isolated.

I heard about Suicide&Co through a peer, who had also been bereaved by suicide, during a particularly difficult stage of my own grieving process. I began counselling with Suicide&Co in March 2025 and completed 12 sessions over the following months. It’s difficult to explain just how invaluable having access to their counselling service was for me during the most difficult time in my life. It gave me the chance to speak openly and honestly about the things I was struggling with most without worrying that I was adding to the pain my family were already carrying.

We would be so grateful for any donation, no matter how big or small. Every contribution helps Suicide&Co continue providing their vital counselling service ensuring that no one has to face suicide bereavement alone.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and learn about the importance of Suicide&Co and for considering a donation in Kyle's memory.

From Suicide&Co:

Suicide&Co is a national charity that supports those bereaved by suicide and seeks to open up the conversation around suicide-related grief. Our vision is to provide adults bereaved by suicide in England and Wales with timely and effective support because everyone deserves to feel like they have permission to grieve. Suicide&Co provides 12 sessions of one-to-one bereavement counselling to those who've lost a loved one to suicide. Every donation of £30 will help provide a counselling session.

Thanks to your support, we can provide a much-needed listening ear and support to those who are struggling with their loss. We help people to heal and build a life back up around their grief, enabling them to look forward with hope.
