adidas Manchester Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Movember has built a global men’s health movement, funding over 1,300 projects, changing the way health services reach and support men. Movember is taking on 3 of the biggest issues facing men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide. Movember is for everyone, not just for men.

Story

I was due to run the 2024 Manchester Marathon but in 2023 I first Broke my ankle in August, that was a minor set back, I thought I could still run it with a reduced training plan and target. However, further disaster struck and in October, I was diagnosed with Oropharyngeal Cancer. I underwent 3 operations at the end of 2023 then started radiotherapy in January until March 2024. Unsurprisingly I had to defer my Marathon place to 2025 and I am running on the 27th April.

While going through treatment I formed Kieran’s Kit Quest, I’ve been collecting signed sporting goods and auctioning them with all the funds going to the following charities: Maggie’s, Movember, My Black Dog and St. George’s Hospital Charity.

I first took part in Movember back in 2012, I loved the spirit of it, raising money and awareness but having fun with it.

I was an ambassador for Movember and in 2020 took part in the Special K Challenge, in November I ran each day, increasing a kilometre a day culminating with 30kms on the 30th November and 465 kilometres over the month! I managed to raise over £1400.00 and had a lot of people join me virtually (remember all that!) along the way.

This is why I Mo and want to raise more funds by running the Manchester Marathon.
