Story

I'm running the London Marathon in Memory of Owen – Supporting Chestnut Tree House.

In 2016, our beautiful son Owen tragically passed away from a brain tumour known as DIPG. Owen was full of love, courage, and joy, and he touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. His life may have been far too short, but his spirit continues to inspire us every single day.

During Owen’s illness, we were blessed to receive incredible care, compassion, and support from Chestnut Tree House, our local children’s hospice. They not only looked after Owen with dignity and love, but they also supported our whole family through the most difficult time of our lives.

I am taking on the London Marathon – 26.2 miles of determination – in Owen’s memory, to give back to the hospice that gave us so much. Every single penny raised will go directly to Chestnut Tree House, helping them continue to provide vital care for children and families who need it most.

Our goal is to raise a minimum of £2,500 – and with your help, we can make a real difference.

Whether you donate £2 or £200, every contribution will help. And if you’re not able to donate right now, you can still help by sharing this page far and wide.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for supporting us and honouring Owen’s memory.

💙

Donate here and help us cross the finish line for Owen and for all the children and families who need Chestnut Tree House.

Thank you for supporting Southern Hospice Group at the London Marathon 2026. Southern Hospice Group is a local charity made up of three hospices our local communities know, love and support: Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice near Arundel, Martlets in Hove and St Barnabas House in Worthing. Together, we support children, young people and adults who have life-limiting conditions. We help those we care for, and their loved ones, to make the most of the precious time they have left together. Our expert palliative services support local communities across Sussex and South East Hampshire – at our hospices and in people’s homes.
