Hi, thank you for taking the time to view my JustGiving link for The SSC's participation in the Edinburgh Kilt Walk 2026. We are raising money for our Assisted Places fund, more information below.

This is a cause that is personally very important to me, and at time of writing we are only £100 short of our goal! Please help me make this happen!

The SSC runs incredible summer camps in Scotland for young people aged 11-18. In 2024 it was featured in the Guardians list of “The UKs best summer camps for kids” under the Inclusive Category. The organisation is run almost entirely by a dedicated body of volunteers and that has been the case for many many years with the charity having been founded in 1912.

Each year the charity fundraises to create a fund to be able to partially and fully fund places at camp for young people who would not otherwise been able to attend. The charity believes finances should never be a barrier to joining in the fun in the summer sun. Fully funded places have previously been given to many young people including care experienced young people and refugees in Scotland.

£10,000 would help the charity enormously with resources to fund places but also to improve it’s facilities on site and training of its volunteers to continue to make the event as accessible and as inclusive as possible to all young people - whatever their background, or personal circumstance.
