Story
Hello everyone,
For over a year now, I've been volunteering at the British Red Cross shop in Newcastle upon Tyne, where every shift is about much more than sorting donation or serving customers. It's about being part of a wider mission, raising crucial funds that directly support people in crisis across the UK and around the world.
This role has given me a deeper appreciation for how vital every part of the charity's work is. From generating income to raising awareness, the shop helps keep the wheels turning so the Red Cross can respond quickly when disaster strikes.
This is why I am proud to join #TeamRedCross, not just as a fundraiser, but someone who's seen first-hand how collective efforts, big and small, combine to save lives and restore hope.
Here's how your donation can make a difference:
- £5 provides essential training on water sanitation and hygiene to communities in Bangladesh recovering from disasters.
- £12 supplies a hygiene pack to refugees or asylum seekers in the UK, offering dignity and support when it's needed most
- £20 helps a parent care for a newborn after losing everything in a flood
- £50 assists families in Nigeria to prepare for severe flooding before it happens
- £75 keeps 150 survivors of a fire in the UK warm overnight while emergency accommodation is arranged
If you can spare anything, your donation will go straight to people facing some of life's toughest challenges.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support
Kieran
