Great North Run 2026 for Our Hospitals Charity

Story

On 27 February 2019, my little sister, Polly, came into the world much earlier than expected. She was born at just 28 weeks, weighing only 2 lb 5 oz.

Polly received outstanding care in the James Cook University Hospital Neonatal Unit under the care of Professor Jonathan Wyllie, before being transferred to North Tees Hospital to complete her care prior to coming home.

My family will always be grateful for the incredible dedication, compassion, and expertise of the doctors, nurses, and staff who gave Polly the best possible start in life. Their support meant everything to us during a challenging time.

I am taking on the Great North Run to raise money for the James Cook Neonatal Unit.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support the unit, its amazing nursing staff, and the babies and families who find themselves facing similar challenges.

If you are able to donate, I would be incredibly grateful. Your support will help make a real difference to premature and sick babies, and to the families who rely on the exceptional care provided by the neonatal team.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting this cause.
