Story
Hi, I’m Kieran!
Some of you will know that I have been fundraising for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust on and off over the years since 2013 - to date we’ve managed to raise over £15,000 from many different events.
The CF Trust is a charity very close to my heart, especially as I happen to have Cystic Fibrosis myself; I also have lots of friends with it too…
Nowadays I don’t tend to advertise that I have CF, so it does come as a bit of a shock to some people, but I still like to raise awareness and continue to raise as much money as possible for the Trust to ensure they keep improving everyone’s lives who have CF in the UK.
As mentioned I’ve raised over £15,000 for the Trust, from various events which include:
- Summiting Kilimanjaro
- Climbing 3 Mexican Volcanoes
- Skydiving
- Abseiling Down a Football Stadium
- Charity Gaming Events
- Charity Football Games
- Charity Quiz Night
- Charity Fundraising Nights
- Raffles
- Instore Fundraising at Supermarkets
- and the most recent event was the London Marathon 2025.
This year I did something I have ALWAYS wanted to do, but didn’t think I’d be able to… I successfully ran the London Marathon 2025 in 5hrs 15 mins, and raised over £3,100 in the process for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, with lots and lots of support from friends, family and many people across the internet - I am forever grateful.
LM25 was my first ever major race, as I have never been a runner, like EVER!!! So I was thrilled and I guess you could say I caught the bug…
1 week after LM25, I ran the Birmingham Half Marathon in 2hrs 6 mins, which I was really happy with considering my legs had only just recovered.
Soon after this, I signed up to the Manchester Marathon which is happening on 19th April 2026 with one of my closest friends, who happens to have CF as well.
I then had the crazy idea, of hopefully securing a place to take on LM again, and making it a crazy challenge to do something which will really test me.
I am over the moon to have been selected for another place to run for the CF Trust at the London Marathon 2026… I really can’t thank them enough 😊
So this means, I will be attempting to run AND complete 2 marathons in the space of 7 days. Crazy I know but stranger things have happened, eh? I will be doing this with my friend I mentioned earlier.
This won’t be possible without YOU! So I politely encourage you to support and help me raise as much money as possible for the charity, to keep pushing for that all important cure!
The goal is to raise £3,000 as a minimum, but hopefully we can surpass that.
Any donation you may possibly make will mean the world to me and I can’t thank you enough already.
Every penny goes to the charity and you’ll be supporting thousands of people at the same time.
I will try and arrange a number of different events in the build up to the day!
Thank you for taking the time to read my lil story, and I look forward to getting to work.
Please keep my legs in your thoughts throughout all of this! 🥲
*I also had support from BearHug who provided me with some amazing knee supports for the run and also A&P Fencing (in Birmingham) who made a financial donation in return for exposure on the day of the LM25!
More info on CF:
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 11,000 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.
Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.
Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
