Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro (and a couple of other hills) · 25 January 2024

We are a small family run charity who care for and educate 90 very deprived children from age 3 to 6. We offer security, healthcare, clothing, a sense of belonging and happiness, independence and personal goals in life. Administrative costs are minimal.

Story

Three of us are hoping to summit Mt Kilimanjaro in January. Not only will this be a huge personal achievement, but in doing so, we are keen to give a little back along the way.

The Baobab school is not too far away in Nairobi, Kenya. They support and care for children in some of the poorest areas of Kenya with nutrition, education, medical care and personal guidance.

We have set a target of £5000 - if we manage to hit our goal, we would be able to contribute to helping this amazing charity support local disadvantaged young people in many ways...

£10 provides a daily meal for 30 children.

£25 pays a teacher for one week.

£30 will educate and feed a child for one month.

£50 will provide 30 children with a daily meal for one week.

Some of us are attempting a few climbs before the big one, so we will be providing lots of updates on our blisters, sweat, and tears (and/or fears!) in the run-up to January.

We all appreciate that the cost of living is hitting everyone so much at the moment, but anything you can spare will be gratefully received, and with Just Giving, every penny goes directly to the charity.
