WE’RE CLIMBING KILIMANJARO!
In January 2027 we will be taking on the 19,341 feet climb to raise awareness and funds for 2 incredible charities- ‘Alzheimer’s Society’ and ‘Phoenix Group’. These charities are close to our hearts as 2 of Sarah’s grandparents have sadly suffered with the cruel disease.
The Phoenix Group is a support group for those suffering with dementia and their carers, it provides help, guidance, and support for navigating the diagnoses and coping with the changes ahead. They hold a weekly ‘club’ for people to attend to socialise with others in a similar situation, days out, and other social events to allow dementia sufferers to have some enjoyment in life. This group helped Sarah’s Grandad following his diagnosis, and supported her grandma, who continues to attend the group running their in house ‘shop’ to help raise funds for the charity.
Alzheimer’s Society is a national charity set up to help those suffering with Alzheimer’s/dementia, raise awareness of the disease, and perform vital research into it to help find the best ways to manage it and hopefully one day find a cure.
Our climb begins on Saturday 9th January and will take us 7 days to complete. We would like to thank you in advance for any support and sponsorship money, helping us raise awareness and financial support for these incredible charities!
We would like to split our fundraising 50/50 between the charities so when choosing a charity to donate towards please bear this in mind.
We know Sarah’s Grandad and Grandma will be watching down, cheering us along the way!
Thankyou!
Sarah & Dan
