This year in support of the National Star Charitable Foundation I have decided to face a challenge, which on paper, looks like sheer madness! I will strap myself to the top of a biplane whilst if flies around the Cotswold countryside…….

I am going to do this in recognition and support for the challenges that the college, the staff, but most of all the young people they support face every single day. These are challenges that we cannot comprehend but with their own bravery, these young people, many with very complex needs, overcome day in and day out.

The students are reliant on local authority funding which, as we know, in today’s environment, is under severe pressure. However, many of the resources, facilities and equipment at National Star are supported through fundraising and charitable donations. Catrin has benefitted hugely from activities such as hydrotherapy, ariel dance, and technologies that she would not otherwise have been able to access. So, it is for Catrin and the other students, now and in the future, that I take on this crazy challenge.

I appreciate that many of you have supported the Sunrise walks that Richard and I have participated in over the last few years for National Star, so if you are able to support my venture this year, I would be hugely grateful.
