Kim's Skinflint Rally 2026 – Raising Money for CoppaFeel!

What could possibly go wrong?

In September 2026, I'll be taking part in the Skinflint Rally – Naughty or Nice, a charity banger rally that will see me drive more than 1,000 miles across Europe in a £600 Mazda MX-5.

The route will take me from Calais to Dijon, over the breathtaking Great St Bernard Pass in the Alps, through Turin and Monaco, before finally reaching Nice on the French Riviera.

Sounds glamorous, right?

Well, there's a catch...

The rally has a vehicle budget of £500, but my MX-5 cost £600. So before I've even started, I've already lost points! The only way to win those points back is to complete the entire journey with the roof down.

That's right – from Northern France to the South of France, across mountain passes and whatever weather Europe decides to throw at me, the roof has to stay down!

The car itself is also a work in progress. It still needs welding, mechanical work and a full bright pink respray before it is ready to tackle the Alps. I've even had a few welding lessons myself, but I don't think my skills are quite up to preparing a car for a cross-Europe adventure just yet.

To make matters even more interesting, I'll be taking on the challenge dressed as a pink version of Penelope Pitstop, because if you're going to do something slightly ridiculous for charity, you may as well do it properly.

Why Am I Doing This?

I'm taking part to raise money and awareness for CoppaFeel!, an incredible charity whose mission is to ensure breast cancers are diagnosed as early as possible.

CoppaFeel! encourages people to regularly check their breasts, chest and pecs and to seek medical advice if something doesn't feel right. Their work helps educate people about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and promotes the importance of early detection, which can save lives.

This challenge also forms part of the All In Pink Campaign, which brings together the communities of Epworth, Bawtry and Tickhill to raise awareness and funds throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
