Each year, my school faces growing budget challenges, and unfortunately, these pressures continue to worsen. Like many schools, Foulds operates with an in-year deficit, meaning the funding we receive from central government falls short of covering our outgoings. In previous years, we’ve been fortunate to have a 'carry forward' that helped balance our budget despite the deficit. However, this reserve has steadily diminished and despite our best efforts to carefully manage costs and find efficiencies, the financial strain has only increased.

Looking ahead to the next financial year, we are facing the reality of a full deficit. Put simply…without additional financial support, we’re looking at implementing serious cost- saving measures which will severely impact the way we run our school.

Our PTA, Friends of Foulds, has been incredibly proactive and generous in their fundraising efforts, contributing significantly to various school projects and enrichment activities. Right now, they’ve set a fundraising challenge: to raise £20.25 (or more) in 2025 in any way possible...

In support of this, I am running the Brighton Marathon and I’d be incredibly grateful if you could sponsor me! I’m not sure if I can make it through the 42km, but I’ll be giving it my best shot!
