Sponsored silence · 29 April 2023

In May 2019 a group of parents decided to volunteer themselves to form a new Autistic group called Puzzles. Our purpose is to provide help to families supporting adults with Autism, people with a disability and those with a long-term health condition. We aim to bring families together to share experiences, meet others and spend social time with others who understand them. We want our members to be safe and feel comfortable. Based in Medway we deliver a range of weekly social, recreational and learning activities across Kent to adults with Autism, their family members and their friends to improve their physical health and mental well-being. It is a joy to watch them interact with each other, slowly at first but once they feel safe and welcomed they gradually open up and then you see all the happiness that they find in being outside doing activities and being able to have friendships, while being understood by the helpers and support workers around them. We currently have a membership of around 1200 adults but also provide indirect support to their friends, family members, support workers and carers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for Puzzles because this charity means a lot to me. My little sister and my cousin have Autism and I want to help people like them.

I am going to do a 4 hour silence which will be really challenging for me because everyone says I am a chatterbox! This includes no screens either.

If I do well I may also get my Charities badge with my Brownie unit.

Please sponsor me! 🤫

Thank you.
