Help Kim Reach New Heights for Thera

On 23rd July, Kim will be taking on an incredible challenge as she embarks on an accessible hot air balloon flight in Gloucestershire—a lifelong dream that has been on her bucket list for many years.

But this journey isn't just about fulfilling a personal ambition. Kim is using this unforgettable experience to raise money for Thera, a charity dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling, independent, and meaningful lives. Thera provides person-centred support, helping people access their communities, develop skills, build friendships, find employment and training opportunities, and live with greater choice and independence. Their vision is for an inclusive society where people with learning disabilities can lead and live great lives.

Kim knows first-hand how important support, encouragement, and opportunities can be. Living with cerebral palsy and learning difficulties, and residing in a residential home that supports people with complex care needs, she approaches life with determination, resilience, and a genuine desire to help others. Friends and support staff know Kim as someone who is always thinking of others and looking for ways to make a positive difference.

Now, she is preparing to do something truly extraordinary.

"I have always dreamed of flying in a hot air balloon and seeing the world from above. I want to show people that no matter what challenges you face, you can still achieve your dreams. If I can raise money to help other people at the same time, that will make it even more special."
