It's Type Onesie Day!
On Friday 23rd January, we are inviting children and staff to come to school in onesies, oodies or PJs. This idea was brought to us by a student who has Type 1 Diabetes, who wanted to raise funds for a diabetes charity and increase others' awareness of the condition. The School's Pupil Council members voted this in as one of their chosen charities.
The 4 Ts of diabetes are a simple way to remember the key symptoms of Type 1 diabetes: Toilet (frequent urination), Thirsty (extreme thirst), Tired (fatigue), and Thinner (unexplained weight loss). These signs often appear rapidly and can signal a serious condition, so seeking urgent medical help if you notice them in yourself or a child.
Any donation you are able to make will be gratefully received and will go towards supporting the charity - Diabetes UK. For 90 years, Diabetes UK research has been behind some of the biggest leaps forward in diabetes care and changed lives for the better.
Today, their scientists are relentlessly pushing for the next treatment breakthrough and speeding up progress towards cures. Your support allows the charity to fund continuing research that makes the biggest possible impact.
