Story
Why would a 67 year old who hasn't even completed a "couch to 5k" run in a Marathon, let alone the Madrid event, one of the hilliest on the circuit?
My name's Jim Stewart and thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
Here's why I've chosen to run and raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK
I recently sat in my GP’s office after a PSA test. My results were ‘normal,’ yet I was told not to take 'comfort' in that. The PSA is only an indication, not a diagnosis, and it left me with a chilling realization: 'normal' doesn’t always mean 'safe.'

I spend a lot of my time in two great communities: singing with The Kingsmen Harmony Chorus in Devon and golfing at Thurlestone Golf Club. In both groups, the conversation eventually turns from music or sport to health—specifically, our prostates. I’ve seen too many friends affected by this disease, some even after receiving 'okay' PSA results.
This year the Kingsmen Chairman's Charity is PCUK and I'm delighted to be able to add my contribution to this cause.
To do my part, I am taking on the Madrid Marathon on April 26 2026.
I’ve never even run a 'Couch to 5K,' and Madrid is one of the hilliest courses in Europe. But compared to the uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis, this challenge is one I am ready to take on.
I’m running to ensure we find better tests, better research, and better outcomes not just for all of us men today but more importantly our sons and grandsons.
I really appreciate and value your support.
