Story
We’re a team of seven from Kingston Vets taking on The Dorset Mud Run on Sunday 17th May!
This is a 6km run through the stunning Dorset countryside, featuring 15+ challenging (and very muddy!) obstacles along the way. We’re excited to take it on together and raise funds for a cause that is very close to our hearts.
We’re proud to be supporting Farms for City Children as part of a two-year partnership with IVC Evidensia Farm Vets.
Farms for City Children was founded by Clare and Michael Morpurgo with a simple but powerful vision: to give children the chance to discover the joy of spending time in nature and to understand they belong to a wider world. Since 1976, over 105,000 children and young people have visited their working farms in Devon, Gloucestershire and Pembrokeshire, growing happier, healthier, and more connected to nature.
Today, almost a third of children in the UK live in poverty, with limited access to safe outdoor spaces and few opportunities for hands-on learning. Many have never experienced the countryside or the emotional, social and educational benefits it brings.
During a five-day stay on the farm, children take on real responsibilities: caring for livestock, growing and cooking their own food, exploring biodiversity, and learning outdoors. These experiences build confidence, improve wellbeing, strengthen social skills, and help young people connect with nature and where their food comes from.
A week on the farm is truly transformative and its impact lasts a lifetime.
Thank you so much for your support. Every donation will help give more children this incredible opportunity
