Story

WE’RE TAKING ON THE NATIONAL 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE! 🏔️ 18th July 2026.

3 Peaks. 24 Hours. One Amazing Cause.

We are a team of children’s nurses and doctors from Kipling Ward,

East Sussex NHS Healthcare Trust 💙

We are a team taking on the National 3 Peaks Challenge in 24 hours to raise money to improve the outdoor space for children and teenagers on our ward.

Every day, we care for young people facing illness, long hospital stays, and significant challenges. Time outside — fresh air, movement, and a space that feels normal — can make a huge difference to their mental wellbeing, recovery, and overall hospital experience.

Unfortunately, our current outdoor area is limited and not always suitable for the wide age range we care for. With your support, we hope to transform it into a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic space where children and teenagers can:

Take a break from the clinical environment

Spend time with family

Play, relax, or simply get some fresh air

Feel like children again, even while in hospital

To help make this possible, we are challenging ourselves to climb:

Ben Nevis

Scafell Pike

Snowdon

—all within 24 hours.

As healthcare professionals, we see firsthand how much these small but meaningful improvements matter. Your donation — big or small — will go directly towards creating an outdoor space that brings comfort, positivity, and joy to the children and young people we care for.

All donations are made securely through JustGiving and go directly to East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Funds raised will be used specifically to support improvements to the outdoor space for children and young people on Kipling Ward.

Thank you so much for supporting us and our patients 💙
