Beatson Cancer Charity supports people affected by cancer, every step of the way. We make the journey easier by transforming the way cancer care is funded and delivered. We provide services, as well as funding specialists, research and education to invest in a better future for cancer patients.

Story

Like me, Eilidh would have been celebrating her 30th birthday this year but heartbreakingly, she will forever be 22.

Eilidh was beautiful, smart, funny and had her whole life ahead of her, but her family and friend’s worlds were turned upside when she passed away on March 7, 2017 after a short battle with cancer.

Eilidh’s mum and dad, Elaine and Michael, her sister Kerry and their loved ones have continued to keep Eilidh’s memory alive by fundraising in her honour.

I met them shortly after Eilidh’s passing whilst working at The Hamilton Advertiser and continued to write about their legacy to their wonderful girl, and naturally, I became a part of Team Eilidh.

Beatson Cancer Charity is a charity which is extremely close to me and my family’s heart and also Eilidh’s family too, so to celebrate what would be her big birthday this September, I’ll running two 10k races & a half marathon.

May 19th Race for Life (10K) - June 16th Women’s 10K Glasgow - October 6th The Great Scottish Run (half)

In September 2018, I ran the HamilTEN race in her memory & I hope to do the same again & kickstart a massive milestone of fundraising for Team Eilidh 💛

Any donations would be greatly appreciated 🥰.
